Hong Kong - Dummy caning demonstration

Judicial caning in Hong Kong was abolished in 1990. The A-frame used is now on display in the prison museum there, where this amateur movie clip was made. An official gives the visiting public a demonstration of the use of the cane. He thwacks it against the padded bar over which the offender would have been bending.

The cane looks excessively thick and rigid, and we cannot be certain that it is the real thing.
