1940s: FLETCHER'S CASTORIA CHILDREN'S LAXATIVE (again).
This a similar story to the previous one, but with rather less of a suggestion that parents might resort to spanking only in extremis when they have lost their temper. In fact, spanking is presented here as something that happens fairly routinely -- "Whenever Tommy gets a spanking ..."
This time it is father who inflicts the hairbrush on the laxative-refusing toddler -- and the agency has switched from drawings to photographs.
The clothes and hairstyles I think are probably late 1940s.
