Two get kiboko for lugambo

By Joshua Kato

The LCI official in Kibule village, Nakaseke county Luwero district has beaten two women for lugambo (rumour mongering).

The two were caned, July 4 after the LC found them guilty of rumour mongering and intending to break up people's marriages.

According to the LCI secretary for information, Wasswa Ndugga, the two women Nakatudde Miria, 20 and Nakimu Betty 21 were once married but they separated with their husbands because of their alleged bad manners.

Nduga said that the LCI reached a decision to cane them after countless caution letters failed to stop them from rumour mongering.

"They led to the break up of Mr. Musisi's family, who has since taken up the matter with LCs," said Ndugga. When the two women pleaded guilty to the charges, they were sentenced to 10 strokes of the cane.
