GES, SFO Move On MPASS Headmaster

By Jonathan Adabre & Frederick Asiamah

The Kwahu South District Director of Education Mr. Nii Okaija Dinsey has confirmed that since he took over office as the District Director of Education on the 2nd of September 2005, his office has received two major complaints about the conduct of Mr. Patrick Owusu-Manu, the headmaster of Mpraeso Secondary School.

These complaints, he disclosed, bothered [sic] on the over-invoicing of school uniforms, which was captured in the lead story of Public Agenda published in the Friday February 10 2006 edition and the severe flogging of a 3rd year female student for no apparent reason.

Mr. Dinsey added that he is currently in the process of constituting a body to look into these issues as well as other reports of malfeasance leveled against the headmaster.

On the other hand, the events leading to the flogging of a 3rd year female student can be blamed on the lapses in administrative procedures.

According to a source, the 3rd year student, Sarah Osei was flogged thirty times with doubled canes when she sympathized with a group of 10 final year female students who were also severely flogged and subsequently dismissed for engaging in gang sex party, which was captured in last Friday's edition of Public Agenda.

The Senior House Mistress is reported to have ordered for the girl to be lashed when she over heard the girl sympathize with the group in a conversation with her colleagues. She was consequently beaten mercilessly by a teacher and eventually suffered bruises on her back and arms.
