Bound over, ordered whipped for sex offence

SAVANNA-LA-MAR, Wd., Nov. 25 (From our Correspondent): Raphael Gale, found guilty by a jury in the Westmoreland Circuit Court here recently before Mr. Justice Moody, of a charge of carnal abuse of a girl aged nine years and ten months, was bound over for two years.

Mr. Churchill Raymond, Crown Counsel, marshalled the evidence for the prosecution.

In addition Gale is to attend at a police station appointed by the Superintendent of Police, to receive 12 strokes of the tamarind switch. The Superintendent has been authorized to keep him in custody for the purpose of carrying out the whipping.

Eleven of the 20 cases for trial have been disposed of. The Court has adjourned until Monday, December 2.
