Boy Sentenced to Strap
Toronto, November 7. -- A 15-year-old boy, who "kidnapped" the pet cat of an elderly woman in suburban Richmond Hill and extorted $10 from her under threat of killing the pet, was sentenced in Juvenile Court to receive 10 strokes of a strap. His 14-year-old accomplice was given suspended sentence.
The boys were arrested after Miss Libby Devine reported to police her cat had been stolen and was being held for ransom.
