Husband jailed for hitting wife

A husband was sentenced to three months imprisonment by Chief Magistrate Hairolarni bin Abd Majid and will receive two strokes of the rattan for hitting his wife's head with a knife. Azmain bin Abd Karim, aged 35, was charged with causing grievous hurt to his 29-year-old wife, Dk Normah binte Pg Hj Othman at a house in Kg Perpindahan Lambak Kanan on January 21, 1998. The incident occurred when an argument broke out between them in the defendant's in-laws house. Azmain grabbed his wife's hair and used a knife to hit her head.
