Democratic Governance and Human Rights Advocates has called for the re-introduction of corporal punishment as a way of disciplining young children.

Speaking in an interview with Flava FM news DEGHA National Coordinator Gerald Mutelo says the absence of corporal punishment has promoted mischievous behaviour among the youths but however stressed that it should not be severe punishment.

He says many youths have become indisciplined and indulge themselves in illicit activities that are a threat to their future and the nation.

Mr. Mutelo says government should find ways of re-introducing the corporal punishment as a way of putting an end to the moral decay among the youths which has reached alarming levels.
