Teacher sacked, gets jail, lashing over delinquent
A Saudi teacher has been sacked while a court sentenced him to 11 months in prison and ordered him lashed 90 times after he housed a school boy fleeing home because of family violence, a newspaper reported on Tuesday.
The 47-year-old teacher was asked by the [student] to take him to his divorced mother in the southern province of Jazan after he was mistreated by his father, Al Watan said.
"Instead, the teacher took his student to his house and allowed him to stay there...the student's father reported the teacher to the police and the ministry of education."
